The Chouchkov Brothers is an independent film production company based in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was established in 2003 by two brothers, Borislav Chouchkov (producer) and Viktor Chouchkov Jr. (director) following their many years of experience in film arts and the audiovisual industry. Both are managing directors and active producers in the company.

 

The main goal of the company is to develop and produce feature films and international co-productions, and to work with talanted directors on international level.

 

The company has produced and co-produced several feature films, including the Bulgarian - German co-production TILT, which was #1 box-office hit in Bulgaria for 4 weeks in a row. The film won 14 awards and participated on 40 festivals, as well as Bulgarian Oscar entry for 2011.

 

The company’s latest co-production is the film WESTERN by Valeshka Griesbah produced by Komplizen film (Germany) and in co – production with Chouchkov brothers (Bulgaria) and Coop99 (Austria). The film is an official selection at Festival de Cannes, ‘Un Certain Regard’ 2017.

 

Another of the company’s latest films is SON OF SOFIA by Elina Piskou produced by Heretic Outreach (Greece) and Chouchkov Brothers (Bulgaria) and in co – production with KinoElektron (France). The film won the Best Narrative International Feature at the Tribeca film festival 2017.

 

The Romanian feature film WHY ME, written and directed by Tudor Giurgiu, produced by Libra Film (Romania) and in co-production with Cor Leonis Films (Hungry), which had its World Premiere at the Berlinare Panorama Special at the 65th International Film Festival.

 

Chouchkov Brothers offers full production services for films, commercials and film music score recording in Bulgaria.

 

The company owns up-to-date digital cameras and post-production studio.

 

Our music division SIF 309 – together with Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra is one of the leaders in original score recording in Europe – in the 90's the company starts with four films composed by Ennio Morricone.

 

For the past 25 years of experience, now we have completed more than 1000 recordings!

 

Including César winner and Oscar nominee 'Les Choristes' for the music of Bruno Coulais, European Film Award winner and Oscar nominee 'Hotel Rwanda', 'Automata' with Antionio Banderas as a lead role, Oscar winner 'El Secreto De Sus Ojos', Jessica Chastain’s 'A most Violent Year' among many others.

 

Chouckov Brothers is a member of the European Producers Club (EPC), a member of the Ateliers du Cinéma Européen (ACE), and a member of the Association of the Bulgarian Film Producers. In 2011 the company was among the top 5 nominees in the category Business Development of Forbes Magazine Bulgaria.
